State Full Time, Fusion Center Analyst- CT Intelligence Center (Cybersecurity)

Job Description

The State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), has an exciting opportunity for a Fusion Center Analyst in the Connecticut Intelligence Center (CTIC) Unit within the Emergency Management Homeland Security Division.

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • First shift, Monday – Friday (*flexible scheduling available!)
  • Hybrid role with main Management Homeland Security Division office located in Middletown, CT

*This position may require your assistance on an “as needed basis” outside of normal working hours due to the nature of the emergency services provided by the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, including possible work at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC).

Knowledge, Skill, Ability

  • Knowledge of research methods and techniques;
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Intelligence systems operating policies;
  • Knowledge of the Law Enforcement Analytic Standards;
  • Knowledge of national/international criminal/terrorism data systems and cycle;
  • Knowledge of state and federal constitutional and statutory privacy and civil liberties provisions;
  • Interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to analyze and forecast data;
  • Ability to understand and use computerized databases;
  • Ability to utilize federal database systems;
  • Ability to analyze data.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with intelligence regulations including open source intelligence collection.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and disseminating  intelligence data related to criminal conduct or activity including terrorism.
  • Experience tracking and organizing data collection of trends associated with terrorist and other criminal activities.
  • Experience providing analyses of cybersecurity issues and trends.
  • Experience using written and oral communication to prepare multimedia presentations of analytical material including intelligence data and criminal activity findings.

General Experience

  • Six (6) years of professional experience in the collection, integration, evaluation and analysis of criminal/terrorism information and/or intelligence.

Special Requirements

  • For a DEMHS or CSP position, must obtain a Department of Homeland Security Secret Security clearance within nine (9) months of appointment to class.
  • Incumbent in this class must possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
