Fire Certified Firefighter
General Statement of Duties
Performs fire fighting, EMS, and related emergency services to the City of Manchester and to other mutual aid communities; performs directly related work as required.

Required Special Qualifications
Must be presently employed as a full-time Certified Firefighter. Applicants must not have any record of convictions for serious criminal offenses. Applicants must be 18 years of age upon date of hire. Class B CDL with air brake endorsement as well as attainment of a State of New Hampshire Firefighter II certificate is required. Applicants without a New Hampshire Fire Academy Certificate may acquire a letter of Equivalency or establish Reciprocity. Preference will be given to applicants who have the National Registry Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) certification. Firefighters must reside within a 15-mile radius of the City limits of Manchester, NH, within 12 months of appointment. Preference is given to residents of the City of Manchester. US Citizenship is required.
|The candidate selected for the position must meet NFPA 1582, the “Standard on Medical Requirements for Firefighter”, successfully pass a physical ability test, and must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.|
