Fire Seeking firefighters, EMTs, emergency support services
The East Kingston, N.H., Fire Department is seeking collaborative residents of the community to serve as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and emergency support services.
The Department has openings for both per diem and on-call shifts.
We are seeking applicants with a strong interest in fire service and emergency medical services. East Kingston is primarily residential and agricultural, so working for the East Kingston Fire Department involves a great deal of customer service and community service.
To be eligible for per diem shifts the minimum requirement is EMT-B with a New Hampshire medical provider’s license. About 70 percent of the Department’s calls are EMS-related. Preference is given to higher-licensing multiple certifications.
Successful applicants will receive Firefighter I and Firefighter II training, giving them national certification upon completion.
Successful applicants will have or be able to obtain the minimum qualifications:
- Have a valid motor vehicle license (CDL preferred).
- Ability to perform strenuous or peak physical effort during emergency, training or station maintenance activities for prolonged periods of time under conditions of extreme heights, intense heat, cold or smoke; ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; and communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Able to pass background investigation.
