Firefighter/Paramedic

The Firefighter/Paramedic works under the direction of the Fire Chief and is responsible for emergency response and activities at fires, rescue scenes, and emergency medical incidents. The Firefighter/Paramedic performs general duties in support of primary responsibilities including general maintenance, upkeep, documentation/record keeping and office tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Massachusetts Paramedic certification, Firefighter 1/11 Pro-Board certification or equivalent preferred, and 1 year of experience in firefighting and emergency medical services field is preferred. Residency is 40 miles border to border.

Firefighter / Paramedic position's hourly rate scale consists of three steps from $26.81 to $31.07 plus annual Paramedic stipend of $6,200.00. Work schedule is based on 24-hour shifts with a one on, two off, one on, and four off schedules resulting in a 42-hour average workweek.

Stipends for those with Fire Science or Paramedic College Degrees.
