Part-Time Dispatcher

Groveland Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of part-time dispatcher.

Dispatchers and telecommunicators have the unique job of liaising between the public and emergency response personnel. Dispatchers provide imperative communication lines and directions between first responders and those experiencing an emergency.

This position includes a one-year probationary period and starts at $24/per hour. Qualifications include the successful completion of all state-required 911 certification courses and Groveland Police’s in-house training.

Responsibilities include being familiar with emergency procedures to dispatch the proper agencies, CPR-certified, relaying all emergency and service calls to officers on duty, keeping emergency personnel fully informed throughout the call, knowledge of in-house technologies such as CJIS and 911/telephone system equipment, and more.
