Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including:
- Be at least 19 years of age at the time of application
- Be free of felony convictions
- Possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Possess and maintain Massachusetts EMT or Paramedic certification
- Successfully pass a Massachusetts Firefighter Physical Ability Test, Firefighter Fitness and
Medical Examination (including drug screening), CORI check, psychological evaluation, and
a comprehensive background investigation
Massachusetts State Firefighter I/II Recruit Academy (or equivalent) certification is preferred but not required.
Please note: Successful candidates will be required to comply with the C-O-MM Fire Department residency requirement within one (1) year of hire.
