Police Full Time, Parking Enforcement Manager

Job Description

The New Brunswick Parking Authority is looking for a highly qualified individual for the full-time position of Parking Enforcement Manager. Parking enforcement within New Brunswick, NJ is conducted seven days a week. The position requires the individual to direct and supervise the parking enforcement department which includes enforcement officers and administrative personnel.

The Parking Enforcement Manager will be responsible for scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of subordinates and using effective supervisory skills in motivating and maintaining staff. Responsibilities include preparing reports and making recommendations to improve enforcement policies and procedures.

The individual selected will plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work of supervisors and other employees engaged in parking enforcement; instruct and confer with parking enforcement officers concerning regulations, policies, personnel use, safety, assignments, methods, procedures, problems, and special projects; conduct studies, prepare reports, and make recommendations on the deployment, policies, practices, goals, and priorities of the enforcement department; review complaints received from the public on parking ticket and enforcement practices and personally resolve the more difficult and sensitive complaints; evaluate the effectiveness of enforcement programs and personnel; review or recommend disciplinary actions; interview parking enforcement candidates for employment.

The position of Parking Enforcement Manager also requires participating in the planning, development, and implementation of training programs for parking enforcement personnel, applying job-related criteria in selecting, orienting, assigning, training, counseling, evaluating, and disciplining subordinates.

  • The individual selected must have excellent people skills as there is much personal interaction with the public, residential and business communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Salary commensurate with experience.
