Police Groveland Police Hiring Full Time Police Officer/Lateral Transfer
Job Description
The Town of Groveland seeks a highly motivated, experienced police officer for a lateral transfer to our department. The Groveland Police Department is a professional, community–focused, and accredited law enforcement agency with highly dedicated police officers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess a valid MPTC Recruit Officer Course (ROC) from attendance in a full- time in–person academy and maintain certification as a law enforcement officer by the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. MPTC Basic Recruit physical fitness entry standard may be required.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Non–smoker according to M.G.L. c41, s101A.
- Possess a High School diploma or G.E.D. A college degree is preferred but not required.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Must possess a Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Must possess a Massachusetts Firearms License to Carry permit, class A.
- Have No Felony convictions.
- Completion of a satisfactory background examination, including financial.
- Must complete a psychological examination.
- Pass a physical fitness examination to include drug screening.
- Must satisfactorily complete any Oral Board or Written Examinations.
Compensation & Benefits:
The current Salary range based on experience is $61,181.53 to $74,468.52 (per current C.B.A), plus additional benefits and incentives to include; educational incentive based on degree attained, 5% differential for 2nd shift and 10% differential for 3rd shift, uniform allowance, holidays, vacation, sick time, personal days and a 4/2 schedule. Health insurance plans are offered through the Town with a 75/25 percentage premium cost split between the Town and the employee.
